Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro specs leaks: New leaked live image shows fingerprint sensor, dual-LED flash

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is allegedly in the works and just recently, users were treated to a new leaked photo of the device. A live image showing off the aluminum back of the device made the rounds, hinting that the China-based tech firm is also overhauling the look of the handset.

The photo shows that the device, or at least its rear shell, will be made of metal. The cut-outs in it also show that it will feature a fingerprint scanner, which should make the smartphone the first out of Xiaomi to make use of the biometric technology.

The fingerprint sensor of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is located underneath the camera and the flash, as what the previous leaked image of the device showed as well. According to GSM Arena, the size of the sheath hints that the latter will either be made dual-LED or dual tone.

Not too long ago, the Xiaomi device stopped by the 3C Certification in China. The understanding when a device gets certified is that it is close to its official outing. Also, the fact that there are already live images of the smartphone suggests it really is in the offing.

As for the specs of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro, it is being said that it will come in a 5.5-inch full HD display. Media outlets are at odds about what's under its hood with some claiming it will be a MediaTek MT6795 processor while others speculating it will make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808.

Nonetheless, they are one in believing that the device will have 2 GB and 3 GB RAM and will offer up 16 GB and 32 GB storage options, which should be enough to store selfies and photos taken by its 13-MP rear-facing shooter and its 5-MP front-facing snapper. Lastly, a 3,060-mAh battery is said to keep it alive.
