Xiaomi India recently revealed via its Twitter account that something "note-worthy" is coming today. Media outlets have sprung to another guessing game on which of Xiaomi's purported Note devices will be showcased during the event.
The company's CEO, Lei Jun, has already mentioned the coming of a Note product, which many believe to either be the Xiaomi Mi Note or the Mi Note Pro. But some sound off that this "jaw-dropping catch" will likely be the regularly rumored Redmi Note 2.
Interestingly, ahead of its supposed release, a new image, said to be of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, was leaked. The photo appears to have been taken from Xiaomi's factories' test beds. The image, which made the rounds on Weibo, shows the budget level smartphone's relatively thin skeletal frame from above.
Rumor mills whipped up pretty solid details regarding the specs sheet of the Redmi Note 2 and it seems that the first one in the array, the Redmi Note 4G released back in August last year, will get exciting new upgrades. This includes the speculated 5.5-inch display which renders 720 pixels. There are also reports that Xiaomi may even go full HD on this one, which will boost the display quality to a sharper and crisper 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.
Under its hood is said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, although other media outlets claim the China-based tech firm will utilize a Mediatek (MT6795) Helio X10 processor instead.
There's still no word on the Redmi Note 2's internal memory and storage but there is on the operating system, which is believed to either be Android 5.0.2 Lollipop or the newer 5.1 version. This software will nonetheless be overlaid with Xiaomi's very own MIUI.
On the imaging side of things, the new Note offering will likely sport a 13-megapixel shooter on the back and a fitting 5-megapixel camera on the front for users to take the best selfies. Should this be the day Xiaomi releases the Redmi Note 2, the tech world is about to find out.
