Xiaomi Mi Note or Mi Note Pro for iPhone 5S or lower?

Xiaomi Mi Note sold out in three minutes. Xiaomi

Xiaomi has gotten a lot of attention lately and it looks like the company is going on an all-out war against Apple. Criticizing Apple for a supposedly inferior design quality on the iPhone 6, the Chinese electronics company has launched a tempting offer which could hit Apple hard.

Xiaomi has launched a swapping program which invites current iPhone 5s or lower model owners to exchange their phones for a newer Xiaomi Mi Note or Mi Note Pro at no extra cost. The Mi Note and Mi Note Pro were launched just last month.

While the initiative does seem like a tempting offer, one has to wonder on whether the deal is indeed good for Xiaomi especially if you consider swapping a high-end Mi Note Pro for an old iPhone 5 or 5s. But of course, it does make sense if the deal only covers the Mi Note. Both are half the price of iPhone alternatives but this development could really reel in some interested people who are looking to upgrade to newer phones.

Actually, both the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro carry specs that are curiously exceed specifications for price. As a refresher, the Mi Note features a 5.7-inch full HD display, quad core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16/64GB of internal storage and 3000mAh battery. The Mi Note Pro on the other hand varies in the form of a QHD display, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM.

But while the offer is indeed something too good to resist, the matter of brand could be the only obstacle for consumers to bite the generous promo. And truth of the matter is Apple seems unperturbed about the whole initiative, choosing to stick to its objective which is to never compare specs and always test and feel the software.
