The Mi 5, Xiaomi 's purported next flagship, was leaked in a new image and was described to come in a formidable package. According to Mobipicker, the smartphone will have 4 GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.

The leaked image shows its dual camera setup believed to either be a 16-megapixel shooter or a bigger 20.2-megapixel snapper, complete with dual-LED flash. Completing the imposing imaging department in the flagship is either a 6-megapixel or 8-megapixel front-facing shooter, which will no doubt be a hit to those who enjoy taking selfies.

If the leaked image is anything to go by, the Mi 5 won't be the Xiaomi device that will feature a fingerprint scanner.

As for the rest of the specs, it is speculated that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will have room for 16 GB to 64 GB worth of files, apps and games. The smartphone is also rumored to come with a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, rendering a sharp and crisp 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The battery is said to be set at 3030 mAh, which should last long enough for users to be able to enjoy the device. Finally, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is believed to be on board.

Although everything seems to be in place, Xiaomi itself hasn't made the device official. There has yet to be an official announcement for the Mi line although it is believed that the company has something up its sleeve involving a new iteration of their top-of-the-line smartphone squad.

On that note, the Xiaomi Mi 5 has no release date yet but with so many leaks and rumors regarding the device, the China-based tech firm will have to lift the veil off sooner rather than later. It is speculated that the company will be going big for this unveiling.

On the other hand, it looks like Xiaomi is busy with the Redmi Note 2 and this seems to be the device that will eventually boast a fingerprint sensor as suggested by leaked images.
