Microsoft has launched their newest console, the Xbox One X, which is their way of answering back to their major competitor's Sony PlayStation 4 Pro. Microsoft definitely wants to be ahead of the pack in terms of 4K resolution gaming. However, the fact of the matter is that 4K resolution televisions are not a wide-spread thing yet, but will Microsoft push its gamers into the new age of 4K resolution gaming?
In a report by The Guardian, it is true that the Xbox One X is, as of now, the most powerful console ever when it comes to specifications and hardware. However, the truth is that it is still just a slightly more powerful Xbox One as it still plays the same video games. It pretty much is just a more advanced console, and it was even described as an
"Xbox One derivative."
It does not mean that Microsoft's new console is not worth buying simply because of its 4K resolution capabilities, as well as the live streaming tools and built-in game capture, according to Polygon. Apart from the hardware specifications, the Xbox One X has a built-in interface that allows gamers to broadcast their sessions, which has been a trend for a while now.
This could put consoles on the map for streaming, especially since the Xbox One X has cut the streaming preparation procedures close to zero. Sadly, there is a drawback to all of the new features. The latest console has no specific video game that can showcase the new features. According to The Verge, the latest release that could possibly make use of the raw power of the Xbox One X is "Forza Motorsport 7."
Perhaps it would have been better if Microsoft released the Xbox One X with a highly-anticipated title with 4K resolution capabilities to further bolster their sales. The Xbox One X is now out with a price tag of $499.
