It's that time of the month again where Xbox Games with Gold subscribers prepare for the new batch of titles they get to download for free as a new month unfolds. As usual, there will be two games for Xbox One players and another two for those who use an Xbox 360 this October.

Fans of Robert Kirkman's zombie comics masterpiece who aren't able to get around playing "The Walking Dead: Season 1" are in luck as the Telltale game will be free this month, presumably in anticipation of the nearing Halloween season.

Xbox Games with Gold subscribers with an Xbox 360 can download the title from Oct. 16 to Oct. 31. Xbox One gamers have Oct. 16 to Nov. 15 to grab the game without shelling a cent.

Meanwhile, players with the new-gen console can also get the 2D animated comic book puzzle adventure "Valiant Hearts: The Great War," released by Ubisoft last year, for the whole month of October.

For the Xbox 360, subscribers receive "Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Heroes," which was free to Xbox One gamers back in August. The action-adventure stealth title from last year, which Konami released as a prologue to the newly released "The Phantom Pain," is for the taking from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15.

Gamers can also take advantage of this week's discount deals. Major Nelson has announced up to 67 percent price cut on games like "LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Deluxe Edition" and "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe."

Add-ons for "Forza Horizon 2," "Mortal Kombat X" and "Batman Arkham: Origins" are also on sale. Most "LEGO" games are discounted, too, and so are "Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor" and "Injustice: Gods Among Us."

Check out Major Nelson's page right here to get to know all the games and expansion packs on sale, which can be availed of up to Oct. 5.
