It is almost the end of the month, and a new year is upon us, which is something that many people look forward to given that it is the holidays. On top of that, this should be great news for Xbox users, since Microsoft has already revealed the free games that will be playable for those who have subscribed to the Games with Gold for the Xbox Live members. Those who are interested will be able to download and play these games for free.

Just because it is the holidays, this does not mean that the format for Games with Gold has changed, which means that Microsoft will only be granting players access to four free-to-play titles for the month of January. The Xbox One and the older Xbox 360 will both be getting two games each. The Xbox One will be graced by the action role-playing game "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III," which will be the official launch of the game for the console.

It is notable to mention that "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III" will also have support and compatibility for the later Xbox One X, and the game will be available for free for the entire month of January. Developed by Neocore Games, "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III" is also the game that wraps up the Dracula-inspired trilogy and was released back in May of 2015.

The next video game for the Xbox One is "Zombi," which is a title that was released back in 2015 for the Nintendo Wii U, and has been ported for the Microsoft Xbox. Although the game has been reviewed to be a bit lacking compared to its other contemporaries of the same genre, it is still going to be up for grabs between Jan. 16 and February.

As for the Xbox 360, Crystal Dynamics "Tomb Raider: Underworld" will be free to download and played for the first half of January. For the next half of the month, the cooperative heavy first-person shooter video game by Visceral Games "Army of Two" will make its way to the Games with Gold list.
