Xbox Games with Gold December 2016 free games list rumors: 'Sleeping Dogs,' 'Burnout Paradise' to be offered

The lineup of free games coming this December in the Xbox Games with Gold program has been announced. The list is a mixed bag that gamers will get an across-the-board gaming experience.

The first free title is the Definitive Edition of "Sleeping Dogs," which will be available for the whole month of December. This is the remastered version of the 2012 open-world action adventure video game set in Hong Kong.

Xbox Games with Gold members will go undercover to infiltrate the Sun On Yee Triad organization by fighting their way to the top through hand-to-hand combat, explosive firearms action and illegal street races without blowing their cover.

Since this December Xbox Games with Gold freebie is the "Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition," all the 24 downloadable content (DLC) and add-ons released in the game will be included.

The second Xbox Games with Gold free game coming next month for the Xbox One is the Red Barrels first-person survival horror, "Outlast."

Available for free from Dec. 16 to Jan. 15, the game will put players in the shoes of independent journalist Miles Upshur, who investigates the reopening of the long-abandoned Mount Massive Asylum in Colorado.

As for the Xbox 360 players subscribed to the Xbox Games with Gold program, they will also get a real treat this December in the form of "Outland" and "Burnout Paradise."

The former, a platform game that allows users to tap into both the power of the Light and the Dark as they destroy barriers and take on monsters from either side, will be available from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15.

For the latter half of the month, Xbox Games with Gold members can race and crash cars to their heart's content in Paradise City in "Burnout Paradise."

It comes with a sweet selection of muscle cars, exotics and hot rods that players can take in more than 100 different events.
