WWE rumors: Goldust shoots down retirement rumors on Twitter

Despite earlier rumors that he would be retiring soon, Goldust immediately replied through Twitter that he is not yet retiring.

Reports came out that Goldust would be retiring and that his last hurrah would be at Wrestlemania 31. Sources claim that the 45-year-old Goldust will be shifting to a full-time agent and producer after the event.

And with that said, the Dust Brothers are expected to break up along the way. Nothing was mentioned on how the two would split but some guessed that it could be a one-on-one between Cody and Dustin Rhodes where the former could very well come out the victor.

But just as fast as rumors came, so did Goldust reply that he is not hanging up his wig and wardrobe just yet. He made the announcement through Twitter meaning that Goldust will still be around the WWE. However, that doesn't mean that the Dust Brothers will continue and somewhere along the way and similar to past tag teams, both could very well split and try their luck in singles competition.

Goldust returned to active duty in 2013 and while he has not been starred in high profile matches, his team-up with brother Cody Rhodes have turned up some decent showing. For the people who remember him from long ago (around 1995), Goldust was lording it over in the WWE. He has been in and out of the WWE but comparing his stature between now and then, there is certainly a big difference.

The Dust Brothers, Goldust and Stardust will be among the 30 participants in the Royal Rumble. Though they are not among the favorites to come out on top, it should be interesting to see if the two would go up against each other or use their tag team strategy against the other combatants.
