Microsoft rolled out Cumulative Update 10586.318 for the Windows 10 Mobile last May 11 and it includes improvements and fixes for the mobile operating system. However, no additional feature is included in the latest patch.

Mike Mongeau, Microsoft's program manager for Windows Phone, made the announcement on their blog, saying the latest patch has been rolled out and users can expect "reliability, performance and stability improvements."

The Cumulative Update 10586.31 brings to mobile phone users the following:

  • Fixed sudden battery discharge issue when display screen is off
  • Fixed missing set of app tiles on Start screen issue due to incomplete initial setup
  • Fixed Microsoft Edge issue that caused hanging or restarting after visiting web sites
  • Fixed issue with recorded video getting lost after answering an incoming call
  • Fixed navigation bar overlay issue

Improvements included in the patch are the following:

  • USB-C connection reliability
  • Internet connection sharing (ICS) and tethering reliability
  • System enhancement to prevent mobile phones from getting 0x800f081f or 0x80070570 errors
  • Cortana improvements in connection to music unable to playback after reading a newly arrived text message; Quiet Hours setting daily automatic rules

For those who are not seeing any update notification, they are advised to go to Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates. The screen will be showing the available update, then user should tap it to download.

Windows 10 Mobile Cumulative Update 10586.318 is available for devices that are not part of the Insider Program. These include devices originally shipped with Windows 10 Mobile, Release and Production Rings.

Winbeta reported that Gabe Aul, Microsoft's vice president and head of the Engineering Systems Team, mentioned in his Twitter account that no builds are available for the Insider Ring members now. He also mentioned that the blocking bugs discovered last week have a fix already but will not be available for release until testing and evaluation is finished.
