Willie and Korie Robertson were in awe after watching their musical, "Duck Commander Musical: How Faith, Family and Ducks Built a Dynasty," come to life.

The production is currently running at the Crown Theater at Rio Las Vegas, and the Robertsons got the chance to see the play for themselves.

"It's pretty surreal, especially when you see your life play out onstage," Willie admitted. "It's emotional for us every time we watch it."

The musical tells the true story of the Robertson family, who went from poverty to wealth through their Duck Commander duck call business. Their reality show, "Duck Dynasty" soon followed, as well as books, clothing lines, toys, and other endorsements and licensing deals.

The "Duck Commander Musical" also showcases the family's personal milestones, such as weddings and the birth of children.

The 90-minute show includes several songs, and Willie said his favourite is a number called "Camouflage." The tune tells the story of Korie's support when Willie considered taking over the family business.

The couple have been married for 23 years and have five biological and adopted children. Their triumphs and struggles were detailed in the 2012 "Duck Commander" autobiography, which served as the basis for the musical.

"Our agent read it, and she just came to us and said, I think your family story has what it takes to make a musical," Korie recounted.

The play has received positive reviews from critics and fans, with the Washington Post stating that the musical belongs on Broadway. The show stars Mimi Besette, Jesse Lenat, Ginna Claire Mason, Ben Thompson, and Tad Wilson, and is directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun. Tickets are available from duckcommandermusical.com.
