Watch Bono and Eugene Peterson's Psalms film, out today

U2's lead singer Bono has today released his new short film Bono and Eugene Peterson: The Psalms.

The international rock star collaborated with the author of The Message, Eugene Peterson to create a short film examining the book of Psalms as the foundation of their friendship.

Bono would often quote passages from The Message during performances. He met Peterson in 2010 during U2's 360 tour.

The 20-minute film, set in Peterson's home in Montana and New York's gallery for the International Arts Movement, records a conversation between the pair about the Psalms.

"Our hope is that as a result of watching the film, people will be curious or inspired to read the Psalms themselves and to discover this remarkable book of poetry in Holy Scripture that has captured Bono and Eugene's imaginations," David Taylor, the film's producer told the New Boston Post.

"Their conversation at the Peterson's home in April 2015 represented their second time to meet and it proved to be a very lovely afternoon together."

It aims to engage with "fans of U2, fans of Eugene's writing, church and lay leaders, artists, worship leaders, and folks involved in the intersection between faith and culture", said Taylor.

The film, produced by Fourth Line Films, and is the first production from the new website, Fuller Studio, which is a resource from Fuller Seminary.

Fuller Studio hopes to "fully serve the global church by marshaling and offering a range of media resources" and its content with be available to individuals, small groups and congregations, in various languages.
