'Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers: Two characters to be killed and replaced?

The Walking Dead AMC

The season 5 finale of "The Walking Dead" has left every fan gasping and gaping about how things went down at the Alexandria Safe Zone. Morgan's return is imperative for the new season and so is the arrival of the deadly sadistic pack of survivors called the Wolves.

Season 6 will not premiere until later this year, giving fans plenty of spare time to mine and look into clues, spoilers and rumors about what's next for the gang and Rick, who is close to taking over the walled community.

A rumor that holds the potential of encouraging a fan meltdown involves the deaths of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), who are both fan favorites. With the Wolves' shadow looming over them, readers of the comic book counterpart of the show know that Glenn's death is nearing.

Glenn's demise has been heavily rumored and some even expected that his time would be up before season 5 wrapped up, but executive producer Greg Nicotero emphasized that the writers have a tendency to divert from Robert Kirkman's comics.

Although this might let Glenn fans breathe for a while, Daryl's death in the series is hinted by so many factors. Apart from the natural unfolding of events in the comics, Reedus' move to sell his house in Atlanta tells fans that he doesn't need to stay in the place anymore, which means that season 6 may be his last for the series.

TV network AMC and its announcement of two new characters also suggest that the show, notorious for killing off characters regardless of seniority, is making some cast adjustments. Just recently, new members of the Alexandria Safe Zone named Delvin and Tucker were introduced.

The latter is described as a "cynical, sarcastic" individual who is convinced that "people are dumb" but thinks that they can be pretty decent nonetheless. Although different from Daryl, many believe Delvin is some sort of replacement for the character and his description is already swaying many.

The other one is Tucker, who thinks that hard work and fairness are of the essence. It is important to note that Kirkman's comics do not include nor mention these characters so this could be what Nicotero was referring to when he mentioned "detours."
