'The Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers: Still no cure, Rick's love interest, new characters

The Walking Dead AMC

The sixth season of "The Walking Dead" is still four months away, but even this early, spoilers are already coming in. Based on spoiler news, season 6 might just be the best season yet. Here's what is known thus far:

No Cure

In season 5, Eugene talked about the cure and everyone started asking if there really is one. Greg Nicotero, co-executive producer of "TWD," said that "it's really not about the cure."

He added, "It's not really important. Because the truth of the matter is it happened, and in this world that's our characters have to deal with."

Eugene was clearly lying to save himself.

Rick and Jessie

There is a possibility that Rick will have a love interest when the show returns, who is obviously Jessie. Nicotero admitted that the spark between Rick and Jessie were there, but they are still unsure whether they should continue on with this storyline.

"Rick murdered the father of her children, so I can't imagine that's gonna be something that she's going to be able to get over easily," Nicotero pointed out to Melty

New Characters

Based on What Culture's report, Delvin and Tucker will be the new characters introduced in the show and they will hail from Alexandria. Delvin is an African-American cynic, while Tucker is a fair guy.

Bigger Threat

While the gang is confirmed to be staying in Alexandria in season 6, they must prepare for a bigger threat headed their way.

Actor Norman Reedus described the new enemies to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, "These guys are roamers and they seem like a whole bunch of Daryls gone south who have gone really bad and turned into wolves ... I don't think they're afraid to butcher people in front of people. They seem different than Terminus; Terminus was more cowardly. They would trick you into coming to Disneyland and then eat you."

Zombie Army

Nicotero also hinted about the formation of zombie armies. He talked about people utilizing dead people as ammunition to build a zombie army.

He also said, "They are setting booby traps everywhere so they can take people's possessions and then use them to build the walkers in the traps. So it's kind of a diabolical plan."

"The Walking Dead" season 6 will be back in October, but there's no official release date yet. If AMC sticks to the past schedules, the premiere may also be a three-day event.
