After a long wait, History Channel has finally revealed a premiere date for "Vikings" season 4. The drama returns with the second half of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

As fans would notice, the show will follow a new schedule. Instead of Thursdays, it will air on Wednesdays. Additionally, it will broadcast at 9 p.m. ET instead of 10 p.m. ET.

The latter half of "Vikings" season 4 will see Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) make a shocking and rather ominous return to Kattegat after disappearing to cope with his defeat brought about by his brother Rollo (Clive Standen). The Seer deems the old man's comeback as a curse which will bring about loss and tragedy.

Ragnar has made his way back to his homeland to, first and foremost, see what his sons have been up to. Unfortunately, his children have lost interest to do the same about their father.

As what the trailer for "Vikings" season 4 suggests, Ragnar has chosen to bring up Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hoegh-Andersen) to be his ruthless and feared successor.

Another reason he returns in the second half of "Vikings" season 4 is to deal with an "unfinished business," as the description for the new season describes it, with King Ecbert (Linus Roache).

Show creator Michael Hirst spoke early this year to TV Guide about Ragnar's dealings with the ruler of Wessex in the latter half of the current season and Ragnar will make sure he meets the king once more.

"They have something in common that no one else on the show had, and I wanted to see them together again, talking about important things," Hirst explained. "And that's really the motivating factor for Ragnar to go to England [in the second half of Season 4]," he went on to say.

The second half of the season of the series will also see Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) launch a "power play" in Kattegat, with Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) expected to be at the receiving end.

In the midseason finale, Aslaug left Lagertha for dead and has stolen everything that is hers. Now, she returns stronger than ever to take everything back.

Lastly, the final 10 episodes of "Vikings" season 4 will follow Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) as he takes a step closer to his "long-held dream," which is to explore the Mediterranean. He will do so in a "sleek" new boat that Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) built for him.
