The mid-season finale has aired and "The Vampire Diaries" is officially on a winter hiatus right now. However, fans are not ready to take the holiday break just yet, given what they've seen in the last episode. Speculations continue as to what will happen when season 6 returns.
For the meantime, fans will have to settle for tidbits, and there's no one better to give spoilers than show producer Julie Plec herself. Via her Twitter account, Plec had fun tweeting and teasing her followers, which has led to "TVD" fans wanting to know more.
One of her tweets says, "Elena Gilbert gets a proposition that could change her life forever."
The producer's followers are left wondering, could Damon be proposing to Elena already?
There's also a tweet about Stefan, saying, "Stefan Salvatore fixes a friendship....and then some."
Which friendship is that?
But more than these, Plec teased, "There will be a hook-up, a break-up, and a make-up. Not necessarily by the same couple." And "There will be A LOT of kissing. By more than one couple."
Many are wondering if Damon and Elena's relationship will be put to the test once more since Kai managed to separate the two again in the last episode. Kai kidnapped Elena and her fate under Kai is uncertain. As for Stefan, IBT reports that his friendship with Caroline will continue to grow, especially with the news of her mom's sickness.
Further, Kai drained the magic in Mystic Falls and this resulted to the Traveller's Spell breaking. Now, Kai has set his eyes on the vampires and he is out to make trouble for them. As Kai gets more powerful, no one is really certain who'll stay alive or who'll die. Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan in the series, did tease that a heartbreaking death will happen.
Plec affirmed the emotional deaths coming when she said, "2015 has some really tremendous stuff coming. Kai is a d#$k, no shocker there, but I also cry every single freakin' episode I've seen."
"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 will return on Jan. 22 on The CW.
