Great news for Moto X 2014 users under US Cellular as the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS has landed on the smartphone. However, the rollout of the new OS for its predecessor, the Moto X 2013, is delayed.

When Google officially rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS in November, Motorola was one of the companies that first delivered the firmware to some of its devices. Three months since the OS was made public, it is now making its way to the Moto X.

Now, US Cellular is pushing the latest OS to Moto X 2014, which will bring forth new features and upgrades to the smartphone. The OS update is 400 MB in size and delivers all of the new features that the OS entails like the new Material Design user interface, multi-user support for phones, and ART (Android Runtime).

The smartphone will also have the new lock screen notifications that enables users to customize the priority and privacy for each app. The device will be equipped with a redesigned notifications bar and Quick Settings, security improvements, performance boosts, dynamic status bar, Smart Lock, Screen Pinning, better battery statistics, and battery saver mode, and a lot more.

Moto X 2014 users can expect to receive a notification that they should tap, which will automatically download the new operating system. If there is no notification, one can check Settings > About phone > System updates > Check now.

When updating over-the-air, Moto X 2014 users can download the file using a Wi-Fi network. The handset should have over 50 percent battery charge to keep the installation process from getting halted.

Meanwhile, the Moto X 2013 has not received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update and it is still unknown when the it get the upgrade. According to @motorolasupport, the update for the handset is not ready yet, but it confirmed that the software will be released. Motorola has not uttered a word as to when users can expect it.
