"True Detective" season 2 is less than a month away and details regarding its plot are slowly trickling in. While creator Nic Pizzolato won't be including occult history in the show's second run, it looks like the new set of characters will be dealing with the disappearance of a young lady.

There is not much detail regarding this, though, but reports go on to claim that the girl in question will be in need of saving after being involved in a secret satanic sex quandary. While on the subject, season 2 will also see female characters hold the fort.

"Rectify" star Abigail Spencer, who will be in the new season of the series as Alicia, was particularly tight-lipped regarding the direction the TV series is headed but was generous enough to reveal that the series will see the ladies in the front line.

"I think that you can tell from the first trailers that have been released that Rachel McAdams' character is not lacking on complexity or strength," the actress told Deadline. "There's going to be some amazing performances from the women on the show for sure."

McAdams will play the role of Sheriff Ani Bezzerides, who is described as someone who always finds it difficult to go by the system. Spencer, on the other hand, is said to be the "missing girl" in the trailer. In the interview, she said that there are times when "she's going to be incredibly strong and yet incredibly fragile, incredibly broken."

The actress, who just got off from an acting stint in "Suits," also revealed that season 2 of "True Detective" is "very different than season 1," with the ensemble simply expanding. She also said that for now, all she can reveal is "how amazing I think it's going to be."

"True Detective" season 2 will premiere on June. 21. The new season of the hit anthology crime drama also stars Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch, and Colin Farrell.
