Mark Wahlberg has already confirmed his return to the "Transformers" series in the heavily hyped-up film "Transformers 5." He will once more be leading the cast, which is still a huge mystery at the moment, for the rest of the movies that will make up the franchise. This is the most recent corroborated news fans have heard about the refresh of the human and robots warfare movies.

Wahlberg, who is set to reprise his role in "Transformers: Age of Extinction" as mechanic and inventor Cade Yager, has also hinted about Michael Bay's possible comeback as he confirmed his own participation. However, the director, who helmed all four "Transformers" films and their insane amount of explosions, has already announced his new directorial ventures. This has left the director's seat empty, but not for long, if the rumors prove true.

Christian Post has suggested that Jonathan Liebesman may be the one to take the torch. The 38-year old South African film director and writer, who piloted the 2014 science fiction action comedy movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," was thought of as Bay's apprentice. The said film, which starred "Transformers" alumna herself Megan Fox and was produced by Bay-owned production company called Platinum Dunes, demonstrated the semblance between the old hand of the franchise and Liebesman's directing styles.

Meanwhile, plot speculations and suggestions are also being developed fervently by fans. Many think that new species of both mean and likable mechanoids will invade Earth, some to increase the Decepticons' level of evilness while the others to uphold good with the Autobots. In addition, the movie may take viewers to space for full-scale battles and it will most likely make them stay there for a while to watch familiar explosive action.

Not much about the important details of the upcoming film are set in stone but "Transformers 5" is already scheduled to hit theaters in 2016 so new details should drop soon.
