'Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege' DLC news: Season Pass details

 Ubisoft

Ubisoft has finally shared details about the Season Pass for the upcoming first-person shooter video game "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" and right up front, the game studio is offering loads of goodies to gamers that will pick it up.

The Season Pass, which costs $30, gives players the privilege of gaining access to new characters that will be released for the game post-launch. Buyers will get to enjoy all eight of these characters aka operators a full week before everybody else does.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" players who will purchase the Season Pass will also enjoy an exclusive Porter skin as well as five animal packs that make up what Ubisoft likes to call the Safari bundle. There are also two new challenges included that will help players earn more in-game currency.

Speaking of which, the title has two kinds of currency. The first one is called Renown, which gamers earn as they play the game. Those who take home the Season Pass will also enjoy a permanent 5 percent boost on their Renown.

Ubisoft believes that during an entire one hour gameplay, "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" gamers will be able to collect at least 1000 Renown units. An additional operator (the ones inclusive in the Season Pass) costs 25,000.

This means that players will have to stay in the game for 25 hours just to score a new character. That is how bloody and arduous it will be to able to get a new operator for the team.

The second currency in "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" is called R6 Credits (reminiscent to the game's name), which serves as the microtransaction currency. The Season Pass entitles players a one-time 600 R6 Credits allowance.

Ubisoft already said months back that there will be four DLC packs to be made available post-launch. There will be two new operators per pack as well as brand new maps to explore. The latter will come for free to players.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" will be released Dec. 1 to PS4, Xbox One and PC.
