Fans of the television series by NBC titled "Timeless" are just so happy that their favorite show is getting a second season after all. The positive feedback and the demand allowed for the very rare occasion of un-cancelling a show by NBC – no less. However, what can fans really expect from the upcoming season of "Timeless?"
Fans can expect that things will not be the same for Team Time in season 2. In a report by Buddy TV, there could be a severe issue regarding the use of the time machine, now that they have fully butted heads with the Rittenhouse organization. The merciless and mysterious organization will stop at nothing to vanquish Team Time and their cause. Jiya, played by Claudia Doumit, will be recovering from the injuries that she had suffered in the season finale.
It is safe to assume that Rufus Carlin, played by Malcolm Barrett, will be nursing Jiya back to health as he simultaneously plots for revenge against Rittenhouse. However, how will Team Time be able to do just that?
The season 1 finale of "Timeless" could have ended the way that it did, potentially serving as a conclusion to the series. According to Entertainment Weekly, the series was successful in nipping the show in the bud by answering many of the raised questions during the series. In the season finale, fans were able to see the plans of Lucy Preston, played by Abigail Spencer, come to fruition as it had been brewing for the 16-episode-long season.
However, this did not stop fans from clamoring for more, despite the unimpressive ratings that the show had during its running time. Fortunately, according to Den of Geek, the show was able to make up for the ratings through delayed views, by which the show accumulated an estimated 80 percent of their viewership.
This is something that eventually bolstered the confidence of the showrunners, which allowed for them to finally decide on pushing through with a second season.
There is no confirmed release date yet for the release of season 2, but "Timeless" is scheduled to return some time in 2018 on NBC.
