Tim Bradley fight with Jesse Vargas in June

Finally, Timothy Bradley Jr. has named his next opponent – Jesse Vargas.

After months of speculations on who Desert Storm would be facing, multiple sources have hinted that it would be WBA regular 140-pound champion that Bradley would be facing on June 27 at the StubHubCEnter in Carson, California.

Bradley last saw action in December that ended in a controversial draw. In that fight, Bradley suffered a swollen left cheek when he and Diego Chaves clashed heads. Until now, nothing has been heard from Bradley though it was previously reported that the American boxer would be back in training this April.

Before word of Vargas, Bradley had a lot of names listed as potential opponents.

The list included Amir Khan, Miguel Cotto and even Brandon Rios. Bradley's camp eventually settled for Jesse Vargas.

Bradley is best known for dealing Manny Pacquiao his first loss, something that was also under the controversy. Bradley would go on to lose in the second meeting and has since been on the conservative end.

Pressure may be mounting on Bradley right now, especially since suffering that first loss of his career to Pacquiao and drawing with Diego Chaves. However that could be hard to come by considering Jesse Vargas is no pushover.

Vargas was another name being eyed by Pacquiao and company if Floyd Mayweather had not agreed to fight the Filipino boxer. The 25-year old American boxer is undefeated in 26 fights, 9 of them coming from KO. His last fight was his second title-defense against Antonio DeMarco held in November 22, 2014.

Bradley, 31, on the other hand totes a 31-1-1 card.

It should be interesting how Bradley can rebound with a seemingly impressive and rising fighter in Vargas. Can Desert Storm hand La Nueva Generacion his first career loss?
