"Thor: Ragnarok" is scheduled to hit the big screen in 2017 but the production for the thunder god's third movie appears to have already gone off the ground. In a photo shared by Crimson Peak through Twitter, Tom Hiddleston dons Loki's look as he smiles next to who could be his make-up artist. However, Fashion & Style quickly broached that it may be from the set of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," as the actor's participation in the film was already confirmed. In any case, it seems a little early for "Thor: Ragnarok."
Speaking to Digital Spy, "Thor" actor Chris Hemsworth said that there is still "no script" for the upcoming superhero movie but writers Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost will be the ones to work on it. He did hint, though, that "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will serve as the stage for the events that the son of Odin will have to deal with in the third installment of the popular franchise.
Whatever the particular event that will establish the dealings that will transpire in "Thor: Ragnarok," Hemsworth has not revealed. However, speculations suggest that Loki, Thor and Heimdall will have something to do with it. Film producer Kevin Feige even revealed that "Thor: Ragnarok" will follow the events that would happen in "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
Going through Norse mythology, the string of natural disasters called Ragnarok or "The Doom of Gods" leads to the death of Odin, Thor and Heimdall. The catastrophe sends the world deep into the waters, only to resurface and live once more. In the Marvel universe, Ragnarok is an apocalyptic warfare where Asgard goes through a cycle of death and rebirth. In the comics, Thor, who believes that the Ragnarok is not something that should plague the good people of his realm, finds a way to put a stop to the destructive cycle. This should give fans some idea on what might happen in the upcoming superhero film.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is set to be released on July 28, 2017.
