Third Days Mac Powell to release solo album

Third Day’s Mac Powell has announced plans to release his first solo album.

The frontman of the popular Christian rock band made the announcement on his blog.

The project sees Powell go back to his country music roots – a shift he decided to make after receiving the encouragement of family, friends and fans.

So does a solo project mean Third Day are splitting up?

“NO!” he writes on his blog. “Third Day is NOT breaking up! We are actually nearly finished with a brand spankin’ new album that we’ll be releasing this fall, with a tour to follow in the spring of next year.

“We’re really excited about the material, and appreciate what we have in Third Day more than ever.”

Powell hasn’t set a release date for his solo project yet but is asking fans to continue praying for him as he continues crafting it.
