The Fox science-fiction television show, "The X-Files," is coming sometime in 2018 for a renewed 11th season. Fans and critics alike may have seen the previous 10th season as a letdown, but the Fox Network has decided to give the series another shot at redeeming itself. It may excite fans of the show to know that the show's creators have revealed that Haley Joel Osment from the M. Night Shyamalan film "The Sixth Sense" will be a guest for season 11.

In a report by Deadline, Osment will be an integral element in the arc of Walter Skinner, played by Mitch Pileggi. This fact was teased during the New York Comic-Con, wherein the panel featured the same cast and crew from the first nine seasons. As of late, it appears that Osment had only been taking up minor roles in television series like "Silicon Valley," and will be making an appearance at the upcoming show "Future Man."

At this point, no details were given out by the creators of the show regarding the nature of Osment's character. TV Line has stated that the plot line of season 11 will involve a lot of doubt from the two main protagonists, Moulder, played by David Duchovny, and Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, towards Skinner. The trailer reveals that the two still do not trust Skinner, and season 11 will shed some light as to why Skinner does things the way he usually does.

Therefore, it is safe to assume that numerous flashbacks will tell the story of Skinner. Is it possible that Osment will be taking on the role of a young Skinner? At this point, it is anyone's guess. In fact, according to Digital Spy, Osment's name has not even been revealed. In series like "The X-Files," information is vital to the story.

"The X-Files" season 11 will premiere in the early stages of 2018.
