The release of the game developed by Maxis and Electronic Arts, "The Sims 4" on consoles has been generating a lot of hype ahead of its November launch. As busy as the developers are porting the game for the consoles, they have also been creating additional content with their upcoming expansion pack titled "Cats & Dogs," which will spice up the lives of players' Sims.
In a report by Comic Book, an extremely detailed gameplay trailer had been released by the developers which fully showcased the endless possibilities of pets in the in-game world. Players will be able to choose between dogs and cats. On top of that, players will also be able to fully customize their pets, from their breed and their physical appearance to their personality traits. It is even possible to cross the breeds of their pets for a truly unique pet.
The wide array of options for pet customization is more than enough to fit every Sim imaginable. The multiple factors that players choose in customizing their pets can even affect the furry creature's personality and demeanor. In a report by thesims.com, not only can players personally create the perfect physical and facial structure of their pets, but their personalities can also be modified. The pets have been described as "Sims for your Sims."
Upon testing the pets in early stages, the developers had encountered problems with the pets being too much to handle for players. In order to find a solution for that, they made sure that they had the natural inclinations of real life cats and dogs such as cats going in weird places within a home, or even hunt for little pests to present to the Sim owners as "gifts."
If that were not enough, Twinfinite has reported that players will even be able to give Sims' pets fully customizable outfits. It will be possible to make thematically matching outfits and appearances between Sims and their pets, which could be a new, enjoyable, and a more immersive experience for the life simulation video game.
The "Sims 4" expansion, "Cats & Dogs" is scheduled to be released on Nov. 10 for the PC and the Mac. There are no reports yet on whether it will be made available for the console version.
