Catania stated that Spagnola had lived through "every war, except the civil war," which illustrates just how full of experience and rich Spagnola's life has been through all these years.
Despite being very old, Spagnola was still very sharp. She even remembered Catania's number by heart, which for her age, is very impressive. Spagnola was born in 1913, and has stated that she has no regrets in her life since she has done everything that she has ever wanted to do.
Catania marveled at her grandmother's age, and even posted on her social media outlets personal tributes to her, and has shown that she clearly adores her. Spagnola has even made appearances in "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" last season, wherein Catania's relationship with her was on display briefly.
At the very least, Spagnola was able to experience one more Christmas just before she passed away, since she died two days after. Clearly, Catania was very close with her grandmother, and their relationship has become truly special for the fans as well.

Just last year in November, Catania stated that Spagnola is one of the most "inspirational and loving people" in her life. In October, Spagnola made an appearance on Catania's Instagram once again, as she urged fans to tune in to the show.
