"The Originals" to bring back Klaroline love team

Almost lovers Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline Forbes (Candice King) will be reunited in "The Originals" season 5. Their exposure might be more than what fans are ready for.

Klaus, the most hot-headed of the originals, has always been known to be fond of Caroline. It all started when the Mikaelsons found their way to Mystic Falls in "The Vampire Diaries." Back then, Caroline was still hopelessly in love with Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino).

Finally realizing that his love for Caroline was one-sided, Klaus made a promise that made every Klaroline fan swoon with joy. "He was your first love, I intend to be your last. However long it takes," he said before leaving Mystic Falls.

A lot has happened since then. Caroline found another love in Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), who died in "The Vampire Diaries" finale. Now a widow, is there finally hope for Klaus to be her last love?

It has earlier been reported that Caroline is joining "The Originals" for season 5, after Rebekah (Claire Holt) asked for her help in calming down Klaus. In season 4, the Mikaelsons were forced to separate and never see each other for all eternity after parts of the Hollow were put into each of their bodies. The only way to save Hope (to be played by Daniel Rose Russell) is to be apart forever.

So, when Klaus went on a killing spree to cope up with his lost, Rebekah though Caroline is the only person who could control him.

King offered fans a glimpse of their reunion when she posted this photo on Instagram.

Fans initially thought it would be a short but sweet meeting. However, in a recent interview with Us Weekly, the 30-year-old actress hinted that she may be appearing longer. "I can say that I worked a lot with Joseph Morgan. The Klaroline fans will be very happy," she quipped.

King added that the cast are still filming in Atlanta and that she "may or may not be heading to Atlanta one more time."

"The Originals" season 5 is set to air on The CW in 2018.
