"The Mentalist" is on its seventh and final season, but there's no sign of the show slowing down. Patrick Jane is still very active with his adventures and is looking to pin crooked criminals down, as will be seen in the two upcoming episodes.

In Season 7 episode 9 titled "Copper Bullet," Jane makes a very risky plan in order to save the career of Abbott, who has been threatened by Agent Peterson. Jane goes to great lengths to save his buddy.

The official press release of the episode reads: "When Abbott's old boss, Agent Peterson, threatens Abbott's career - and possibly his freedom, Jane will devise a risky plan to protect his friend's future."

Meanwhile, the next episode after "Copper Bullet" seems like there's more action and adventure to it.

Episode 10 is titled "Nothing Gold Can Stay" and according to the synopsis, "Jane is set to take extreme measures as the team tries to apprehend a deadly gang of armored car robbers. It's a race against time though before the gang's quest to remain free from the authorities costs more innocent people their lives."

Surely, "The Mentalist" will want to go out strong and the plot for these episodes look great. However, the impending closing of the show is a subject in talks as well. Rockmond Dunbar, who plays Abbott in the series, recently talked to The Hollywood Reporter and said that the plots and stories in season 7 will be "tied up." He went on to say that fans will love the ending just as much as he does.

Further, Dunbar also confirmed that "The Mentalist" season 7 DVD will come out by April 28 in the U.S. The complete season 7 will comprise of 13 episodes.

"The Mentalist" season 7 episode 9 will air on Jan. 28 and episode 10 will air on Feb. 4.
