A new trailer for "The Man in the High Castle" season 2 says that "freedom is an illusion," which looks to be the overarching theme of the new season.

The short clip brought into play the real-life election, which appear to reflect the events that fans will get to see in the new season of the Amazon hit.

"This election, take a moment to give thanks that the burden of freedom has been lifted," the teaser for "The Man in the High Castle" season 2 mentioned as the American flag waved in the background.

In another preview of the new season, Frank (Rupert Evans) was given freedom by Inspector Kido (Joel de la Fuente), which is something that is not always good news.

"You have suffered enough. I am not a monster," Kido said. Frank replied "You ever need any more Jews to kill, you know where to find me," with the inspector responding to the affirmative.

Freedom is "deceptive" as Amazon teased with this clip, and this concept will very well be in play come "The Man in the High Castle" season 2.

The second season of the series will mark the unmasking of the titular character. Fans will not have to wait long as this moment will take place in the premiere.

"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 will also delve into the personal issues and loyalties of the characters.

The sophomore run of the series will also see Sebastian Roche join the cast in a recurring role. The French actor will play the role of the estranged father of Joe (Luke Kleintank), reichminister Martin Hausmann.

He is a "wealthy, high-ranking Nazi official based in Berlin ... who is sincere in his desire to reconnect with his son but would not blink twice about the extermination of the enemies of the Reich."

"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 premieres Friday, Dec. 16, on Amazon Prime.
