One of the most anticipated and speculated-on titles that are yet to be released is the Wii U version of "The Legend of Zelda." Although rumors already place the release to be next year, it has yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, Nintendo remains silent on the matter but admits that the title has been in the development stage for far too long and hopes to assuage fans' anxiety in waiting by teasing rewards.
According to industry observer Master Herald, a video statement was released recently by game producer Eiji Aonuma. In it, he says said that although they are putting "The Legend of Zelda" for the Wii U on the backburner for the meantime – seeing as it will not have a 2015 release – players and hardcore fans will be rewarded once the game finally rolls out. Aonuma did not elaborate on what type of rewards players will get from the title, aside from saying that in delaying the release, the additional time spent on focusing more on the development will make "The Legend of Zelda" for the Wii U one of the most complete and best titles under the "Zelda" franchise.
Although Nintendo still has to confirm the rumored 2016 outing of the title, there were signs that "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U will most likely arrive next year. Observers such as Realty Today and iDigital Times quoted Nintendo America executive VP Scott Moffitt assuring fans at this year's E3 convention that a new "Zelda" game for the Wii U will be released come 2016.
Moffit said that as part of the company's drive to provide fans with a quality title, the upcoming game will only be released once it passes all benchmarks and is already free of glitches and bugs. "We want [the new game] to be the best Zelda experience. Fans have been waiting for and deserve a game when it's ready, when it's fully featured and when it can live up to what we would like to deliver," he stressed.
