'Good Wife' season 7 spoilers: Alicia to team up with Louis, Elsbeth? Cary, Diane get new partner

Now that Alicia has been kicked out of her own law firm, Cary and Diane will get a new partner in the form of a new character named Dirk. The unfamiliar face will be introduced in the first episode of "The Good Wife" season 7 titled "Grunts," officially rendering Agos/ Lockhart/ Florrick history.  

According to TV Line, Dirk is described as a "charming" man who will work on "making his presence felt." This makes the lawyer motivated and it looks like the moment he steps in, he will already exert effort to make an impression. At the moment, there is still no info on who will play his role. 

Meanwhile, with Cary and Diane moving on from the debacle and replacing Alicia almost instantly, the former state attorney is said to put up her own law firm. However, as fans already know, Finn Polmar won't be joining her in that venture.  

With this, media outlets have started to speculate on who will be part of Alicia's team come season 7. Topping the rumors is Louis Canning, played by Michael J. Fox, who already insinuated this possibility in the last season. 

Then there's Elsbeth, played by Carrie Preston. The character has not been confirmed to return but her comeback is one of the most requested and most brought up topic by fans of the show. After all, with the cast stripped of two key characters, the ensemble needs to bulk up. 

There also won't be trouble getting Preston back on board. In a Twitter exchange with a fan, the actress revealed that she has her "fingers crossed" that she will be part of "The Good Wife" season 7. She also added that the crew "will find a way" to make her comeback work or make sense.

As for Cush Jumbo who will be joining the cast next season, Carter Matt says that her character will be, to all intents and purposes, a replacement to Archie Panjabi's Kalinda Sharma. 

"The Good Wife" season 7 premieres Oct. 10.
