Another game has been ported for the popular Japanese console, the Nintendo Switch. Notably, the independent video game titled "The Escapists 2," which is a colorful pixel-inspired prison escape simulation game -- and along with titles big and small -- will be hitting the Nintendo Switch soon enough after being released to the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One last year in August.

In the video game's trailer launch, viewers will notice that the game is clearly inspired by past games, with its 8-bit-like audio soundtrack and top-view perspective. Players will be taking on the role of prisoners, and will have many different ways to play the game -- either via multiplayer, cooperative play, or solo play. The prisons are rich in number of themes, with some being arctic prisons, while others resembling regular prisons.

"The Escapists 2" is developed by independent video game creator Team17 Digital.

There are even desert-based prisons, as well as water-based ones. These will provide players with different strategies and approaches in making their great escape. Despite the game having a pixel aesthetics, players will still have a vast array of options in which they can customize and personalize their characters. With the newly added online, multiplayer mode, customization will set players' character apart from the rest of the inmates.

The goal of the game is for players to figure out a way to escape various prison stages by crafting weapons, and fighting their way through prison guards, while going through different obstacles. The developers were thoughtful enough to design the stages in such a way that players will have more than just a linear approach in how they can escape in each stage.

In fact, the options are numerous, and players will have to be well-coordinated and strategic in order to successfully finish a level.

"The Escapists 2" is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
