It looks like "The Blacklist" season 4 fall finale, "Dr. Adrian Shaw: Conclusion," will finally provide the answer to the question every fan has been asking since the beginning: Who is Elizabeth's (Megan Boone) father?
In the previous episode, a DNA test revealed that Liz is not the daughter Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) claims her to be, to his utter disappointment as he just lost the key to his recovery.
In the upcoming episode, Kirk will continue to find a way for Liz to be of use to him, considering the trouble he went through to get her.
The "increasingly desperate and dangerous" Kirk, as the synopsis for the episode describes him, takes Liz anyway, which forces Red (James Spader) to go after them but not using his usual lethal methods.
Instead, Red tries to convince Kirk to trade his life for that of Liz. "I'm the one you want," he tells Kirk in the promo for "The Blacklist" season 4 episode 8.
It looks like Kirk bites it as the clip cuts to the two of them inside what appears to be a warehouse that could be Kirk's hideout, where the sick desperate man tortures Red for answers.
"Are you her father?" Kirk asks his rival, who is sweating and shaking presumably from all the substances that the former has been injecting into him, as shown in the trailer.
"What do you want me to say?" Red retorts, acting like Kirk was asking a stupid question that he already has the answer to.
Considering that episode 8 is the fall finale for the season, it is expected that the identity of Liz's father will finally be revealed or, at least, her true connection to red will be unveiled.
By the end of the installment, it looks like fans will be one step closer to finding out the identity of Liz's father and her mysterious past, which Red has always said is the thing that always put her in harm's way.
The synopsis for "The Blacklist" season 4 episode 8 reads: "Red pressures Dr. Shaw to locate a former patient. Liz contemplates the implications of her ties to an increasingly desperate and dangerous Alexander Kirk. Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) comes to a critical realization about her future."
