HBO's "The Affair" season 1 did very well with the fans and the critics. It offered something new, a narrative from two different perspectives of people embroiled in an extramarital affair. To deepen the drama, a murder investigation strides along the storytelling. It was deserving of Best TV Drama from the Golden Globes.

Ruth Wilson, the lead actress who plays the role of Alison, was equally praised for a job well done. She won Best Actress in a TV Drama. And while feeling fulfilled about her accolade, she also confessed that her role is "exhausting but incredibly satisfying."

Variety was able to get the details of the backstage interview of Wilson, to which she said:

"I was really intent in serving the grief of this character. I wanted to make sure it wasn't flippant or a device. I love the fact that I got to play different versions of this character. I got a respite from playing my version of her character by playing Noah's version."

She added, "It was quite relentless in the grief. By the end it was quite exhausting but incredibly satisfying to explore a character in so many different facets."

As for creator Sarah Treem, she spilled that the inspiration of the show is how to make a marriage work. She also said that she's happy that "people are watching the show."

So, what is to come in season 2? There's still so many plot holes left uncovered, will Treem dive into them quickly? She said that the second season will offer plenty of narratives.

"I think the way that we get there is going to be a bit of a puzzle, so when the audience arrives at it, they will discover it for themselves," Treem explained to E! News.

She also said that she wants the story to be as objective as possible.

For those wondering how long Noah will be in jail, Treem spilled that what the detective has on Noah is "not conclusive." Hence, Alison might just be able to keep her promise of getting Noah out, sooner than everyone expects.
