The CW network's post-apocalyptic television show, "The 100," is already shooting its fifth season as of now. Although the upcoming season will not be airing until sometime next year, fans have already been anxiously speculating as to what the plot will be about — especially after the brutal season 4 finale. It has been reported recently that Clarke Griffin, played by Eliza Taylor, might have to make an important choice.

The show's creators have released a mind-boggling teaser on the official Instagram page of the show, wherein the picture simply shows the word "choose." Fans are eager enough to see season 5 as it is, since season 4 capped off with its finale during the latter parts of May. The world of "The 100" is already hard enough as it is, so what could this teaser word mean for the characters in the show?

In a report by Inquisitr, the Instagram post should come to no surprise for fans of the show, especially since they have done a great job with keeping the atmosphere of the show as well as its promotional material tense and mysterious. After the events in season 4, it really is anyone's guess as to which of the main characters will be put in a position to "choose," as well as what they will be choosing from.

As it appears, the popular speculation is that Clarke will eventually become close to Madi, played by Lola Flanery — perhaps even a prominent mother figure towards her. However, given Madi's personality and attributes, her views might not necessarily be aligned with the group of Clarke — which could possibly cause a rift between Clarke's crew and Madi. If this were true, Clarke might have to choose between Madi, and the rest of the survivors.

At this point, everything is clearly speculation, especially since the Instagram post could be referring to just about any one of the major characters in the series.

"The 100" will resume sometime in 2018.
