'Terminator 5' movie news: Arnold Schwarzenegger to be called another name in 'Genisys'

As if calling Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 the Terminator isn't enough, the robot has a new name in the set. In fact, even the crew use this specific name when referring to the T-800 and that is the name used in "Terminator: Genisys" as well.

According to Terminator Fans, the T-800 is referred to as The Guardian, which seems to fit the role perfectly. Plot reports point to the T-800 actually going back in time to do what's necessary.

Schwarzenegger's T-800 (the old version) will reportedly go back in time for the purpose of killing the younger T-800. He will do this to save Sarah Connor, since the young T-800's mission is to kill her. With that said, being called The Guardian fits the job description.

However, there's also another side to the T-800 being a guardian to Sarah. Apparently, the older version is still trying to protect the older Sarah, which he has done so since Sarah was a child. According to Cinema Blend, this is one of the perplexing things in the plot of the new movie. Hopefully, "Genisys" gets to iron out the confusing plot holes, given that they are planning to make it the beginning of a new trilogy.

Aside from the changes to the T-800, Connor will be a changed woman in this movie. In the old films, Connor was confused about her destiny and why a robot was following her. In "Genisys," she already knows her destiny and what should be done.

"Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen. But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, 'That's not what I want to do.' It's her decision that drives the story in a very different direction," co-producer David Ellison told Entertainment Weekly

Fans can expect a lot of new changes in the story when "Terminator: Genisys" hits theaters in July. In the meantime, here is the second official trailer for the movie.
