If there's one thing "Tekken 7" won't have, it's blood. This is Bandai Namco's way to avoid getting a mature rating for the game. Fights in the battleground of the latest iteration of the widely popular fighting video game series will give warriors scratches, and they will get dirty and sweaty, but the arena will not be splattered in red.
Game director Katsuhiro Harada was the one to confirm the absence of blood on the ring when a Twitter user queried about it. It also looks like fighters will not get their garb damaged with cuts or slashes no matter how dynamic the throwdowns and body-slamming get.
This is a complete turnaround to "Mortal Kombat X," whose foundation and gameplay stand on indescribably gory Brutalities. The fighting game presents so much more than neck-snapping and punch-throwing during match-ups — it is so grisly that every minute of the fight allows players to mar their opponents in the most gruesome way possible.
Going back to "Tekken 7," the game has already made it to arcades in Japan. Gamers are now waiting for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the title to arrive. Even with no release date announced, media outlets believe that its worldwide launch will happen this year.
In fact, a tournament called the Final Round 18 is being cooked up for fans in the U.S. It is reported that the affair to be staged in Atlanta, Georgia will allow attendees to try the game out as they battle with fellow fighting game devotees. The game will also show up at the EVO 2015 on July 17 to 19 at the Bally's Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.
"Tekken 7" is the first of its line-up and basically one of the first fighting games to ever use Unreal Engine 4, which is why the game looks so unmistakably good in the trailer. Wait until it makes it to the current-gen consoles sometime this year.
