Taylor Swift new album 2016 release date, rumors: Singer stepping back from making music?

It looks like fans will not be treated with new music from Taylor Swift this year. It might be a while before the Grammy-award winning artist comes out with a new album.

But that does not stop the rumor mills from speculating what the singer's next album will be like. Digital Spy believes that Swift will lean more on the pop genre than going back to her country roots for her sixth album.

The latest buzz is that Swift will take to singing her feelings about her past relationships with Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston, which both made headlines in the past months.

It is no secret that Swift draws inspiration from her love life as in her songs, and her next album is expected to be no different especially with issues around her and Harris still very much apparent.

In the DJ's latest music video "My Way," many believe that he threw a shade to his ex-girlfriend in a way that is subtle but evident enough for people to catch it. It looks like the nasty aftermath of the breakup is still fresh, so Swift might throw in references to the relationship in her new album.

It is also being rumored that Swift's next album will feature Kesha and Drake. The former teased back in September that she is in the studio with a "casual Grammy Award-winning secret person," who is believed to be Swift.

It is also rumored that the "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer will collaborate with Drake. In fact, there are rumors that the two are even dating after Swift was invited by the rapper for his 30th birthday.

As for a release date, it was expected that Swift will surprise-drop her new album last week in celebration of the 10th anniversary of her eponymous debut album. However, this was not the case. The "22" hitmaker said before that she will take a break from making music, so this might be what she is doing.

"This is the first time in 10 years that I haven't known [what's next]," the 26-year-old singer told Vogue early this year. "I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened...I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something," she went on to say.
