Season 3 of the television show "Supergirl" has already begun, and it has found main protagonist Kara, played by Melissa Benoist, facing what could potentially be her biggest challenge yet. She is slated to go head-to-head against Psi, played by Yael Groblas.

In a report by The International Business Times, the synopsis for episode 2 stated that the villain Psi is a woman who has psychic abilities, and uses those powers to acquire anything that she desires. This is especially useful in her chosen career as a thief and a criminal. Furthermore, Psi is able to bring forth other people's fears, which renders them absolutely petrified.

Psi is hinted to be the most powerful psychic that J'onn, played by David Harewood, has ever seen. This raises the question, how will Kara stop a force such as this? And how does this encounter with Psi affect the arc of the upcoming season?

In a report by Entertainment Weekly, Psi might be able to take advantage of Kara's loss of Mon-El, played by Chris Wood, which occurred back in season 2 wherein he disappeared into a portal. Psi could potentially capitalize on Kara's sorrow. So in this case, Kara will have to keep her wits about her.

It is not yet clear if Mon-El is indeed dead, or if he was just transported to a different dimension. Yet, according to Inverse, Kara is also subject to panic attacks from time to time. This leaves her gasping for breath, and she relies heavily on her friend Alex, played by Chyler Leigh, to help her get through them. However, when all is said and done, Kara will emerge stronger, and with a more positive outlook on her past and present.

"Supergirl" season 3 episode 2 is titled "Triggers" and will air on The CW on Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. EDT.
