The streaming website Twitch has risen in success alongside the rise of many new games and esports. Many gamers have achieved fame and popularity as streamers showing their viewers their skills in a certain game. Now that Twitch is making a TV show, it will focus on streamers "battling" it out against other streamers.

"Stream On," the Twitch reality TV series, is focused more on those who want to become full-time streamers or are only starting out to becoming one. It is quite similar to shows like "American Idol" or "America's Got Talent" where people who think they have what it takes to become a streamer can try their skills out with "Stream On."

Also, since Twitch also highly depends on viewership, people watching the battles will play a big role in deciding who gets to stay on the show and who has to leave, like in the aforementioned talent shows. This voting will be done through Twitch's usual chat sidebar. The potential full-time streamers will be coming from the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom. The contestants stand to win 60 thousand dollars, to be given in monthly stipends of five thousand dollars.

"[Streamers will] face challenges designed to test important streamer skills, and be evaluated by a panel of Twitch judges," reads an excerpt from the Twitch blog. These contestants will "compete throughout each week from their home streaming setups, and the action will be punctuated by a weekly recap and elimination show from Twitch Studios."

The main requirements for the application are quite simple. First, the potential streamers must be at least 18 years old by the time they apply, and second, they must be already currently streaming on Twitch or be a Twitch partner. There are no minimum subscribers or followers required for streamers to join.

"Stream On" will premiere on March 2018. Twitch viewers can expect more details to come out soon.
