"Steven Universe" season 4 will be back later this week with a brand new episode titled "Three Gems and A Baby." Cartoon Network has provided a look at the much-awaited installment in its "The Christmas Story" trailer.

The clip showed a glimpse of Steven watching from inside the house as the snow blankets the city. The next scene sees Steven, Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst gathered around Greg by the fireplace as he prepares to play the guitar.

He will sing to them the new song, "I Could Never Be Ready," which show creator Rebecca Sugar and Greg's voice actor Tom Scharpling sang a bit of at the New York Comic Con (NYCC).

The next scene confirmed the longstanding speculation, which is that "Steven Universe" season 4 episode 9 will be a flashback episode that will center on Steven in his early years.

The preview showed Greg accidentally putting the meat he bought in the blanket of baby Steven, who ended up inside the grocery bag where the meat should have been.

The song is said to be about Greg becoming a single parent with Steven's mother Rose Quartz gone. One line from the song goes, "I could never be ready for this."

The synopsis for "Steven Universe" season 4 episode 9 teases that Greg will share the story of his and Steven's first winter together.

This episode appears to be the Christmas special of "Steven Universe" season 4, which means that it might be the last installment for this year.

This has many speculating that there will be a Steven Bomb in January next year where fans will get to watch new episodes every day of the week.

This could be the reason why there are only three episodes for "Steven Universe" season 4 slated to air after the one and half month hiatus.

"Steven Universe" season 4 episode 9, "Three Gems and A Baby," airs Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. ET on Cartoon Network.
