'Star Wars Episode 7' plot spoiler update: Will Oscar Isaac return for episode 8? 'Star Wars' live-action TV series rumored

"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" is all ready to go for its premiere this December. It is the beginning of another trilogy that introduces a bunch of new characters in the franchise. With that said, "Star Wars" fans are also very excited to get whatever news there is before the movie comes out.

There are, in fact, quite a lot of buzz, one of which is a rumor about a live-action TV series being planned. Cinelinx reported that this TV series will only begin development once all the movies have their release dates already. The report also said that the TV show will make use of all the sets and props from the films, which is the ultimate reason for the long wait. It remains to be seen whether or not that would come to fruition.

At any rate, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger already announced "Rogue One," a spinoff film for "Star Wars" to be directed by Gareth Edwards and will star Felicity Jones, reports Cinema Blend. Furthermore, an important detail on "Star Wars Episode VIII" has also recently been confirmed: Rian Johnson will be directing the film that is slated for release on May 26, 2017.

In the wake of the announcement, fans immediately started speculating which actors or characters will continue on to "Star Wars Episode VIII." Fan favorite Oscar Isaac was immediately the first name that came to mind.

When Moviefone asked Isaac if he is excited to work with Johnson, he said "Yes. Very excited."

However, when he was asked if he had talked to Johnson already, he answered in the negative. Later, when SlashFilm asked him about the fates of the "Episode VII" characters, Isaac remained tight-lipped.

He said, "Ah, I couldn't speak to that. I don't even know. I think generally ... watching the trailer was my only confirmation that I even was going to be in this one so I have no idea. I know that people thought I was saying I was going to be in the next one which is not true. I was asked if I was excited to work with Rian Johnson. I mean of course I would. I'd be excited to work with him. I have no confirmation whether I will or not or anything like that."

Isaac isn't too sure yet, but fans are really hoping that Poe Dameron is headed to do the sequel.

"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on Dec. 18.
