Spring is coming and this means that it is almost time for Electronic Arts to fulfill its promise of unveiling "Star Wars: Battlefront." The publisher has every intention of keeping its word, and fans are now just a month away from seeing the latest iteration of the well-loved series in action.

"We're thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars Celebration next month in Anaheim, CA from April 16-19," Electronic Arts wrote in a post on its Star Wars website. "We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it."

Another announcement about the game was made, this time about the platforms it will crash to. "Star Wars: Battlefront" will only land on current-gen consoles come its holiday release. EA has confirmed via a reply to an inquiring fan that the game will only be available for PC, Xbox One and PS4. This makes the game the first in its lineup to skip an Xbox 360 and PS3 release.

As the event closes in, EA promises to drop more details about the intergalactic multiformat shooter. In the meantime, gamers can take note of the important dates concerning "Star Wars: Battlefront." From April 16 to 19, there is a guaranteed showcase of gameplay footage and other new details about the game, and December 2015 is when the title will be released.

As "Star Wars" geeks know, all the goodies from the Disney-owned franchise will all be let loose at the end of the year. A series of novels will be published this fall, after which the hotly-anticipated film "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will be shown in theaters starting Dec. 18. So it is only fitting to have a video game under the same umbrella to go along with them.
