'Star Wars 7' movie plot update: Theories are wrong, Disney made own storyline, did not use George Lucas' ideas

"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" is happening this year, around Christmas Day to be exact. But to date, there's still no solid news about the plot of the next movie, except for fan theories and media speculations. Is that a good or bad thing?

For actor Oscar Isaac, who is set to play Poe Dameron in "The Force Awakens," he believes that the secrecy behind the movie details is actually a good thing.

Talking to Yahoo Movies, he said: "I can't speak for the cast and crew, I can just speak for myself, but for me, I thought, 'Don't you want to wait so you can get the real thing?"

While there have been a few leaks here and there, those didn't suffice in determining what the new "Star Wars" movie will actually be about. It has to be considered that "The Force Awakens" is actually set 30 years after "Return of the Jedi," which means three decades of new events in the galaxy.

As for the leaks, Isaac had this to say: "But it creates excitement for it. I don't think these little leaks necessarily ruined watching the trailer. And also, the [plot theories] that get that formulated based on these things — they couldn't be more far off-base."

Furthermore, Isaac went ahead and share how Disney is very protective of the script and the movie. "You go to the place, and they have a room with cameras and you sit there and read the script. They're incredibly protective... there has to be such tight security around it," Isaac explained. Well, that's a valid reason why the plot still remains a secret.

Elsewhere, while fans of the movie franchise might think that George Lucas knows what "The Force Awakens" will be about, it looks like he doesn't. He admitted to Cinema Blend that Disney had their own ideas and used that for the movie when the company bought Lucas Films.

"The ones that I sold to Disney, they came up to the decision that they didn't really want to do those. So they made up their own. So it's not the ones that I originally wrote," Lucas said.

"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015. Until then, may the force be with you.
