Sonicflood joins ONE campaign to rally US faith communities

|PIC1|Grammy-nominated rock group Sonicflood will be playing a series of church concerts in partnership with the ONE Campaign as part of the organisation's Presidential campaign initiative, "ONE Vote '08: Saving Lives, Securing our Future."

Finishing their first concert on Wednesday in Las Vegas, Sonicflood is scheduled to perform a second date on 15 November in Des Moines, Iowa, in the attempt to rally faith communities and voters to challenge presidential candidates on the issues of poverty, hunger and global disease.

"The need for relief in our world is overwhelming and it is our desire is to see a miraculous change through a united force of love - many acting as one," said Sonicflood lead singer Rick Heil in a statement released by the group. "As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that our Lord calls us to a life of surrender and self sacrifice so that this world will see His glorious love revealed.

"With Christ as our example, let us reach out to this hurting world - healing the sick, feeding the hungry and touching the untouchable. I pray that our love is more than just words but that our love is taking action and together we can move the highest mountain."

A non-partisan initiative, ONE Vote '08 is co-chaired by former U.S. senators Tom Daschle and Bill Frist, and is supported by a number of politicians, celebrities and religious voices, including former Chief of Staff to President Clinton John Podesta, Saddleback Church pastor and Purpose Driven Life author Rick Warren, and Christian musician Michael W. Smith.
