'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 spoilers: Headless Horseman among the classic characters coming to Washington, D.C.

Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) will deal with some familiar faces in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4. FOX

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 is practically a reboot of sorts, but fans can still expect some familiar faces to turn up in Washington, D.C., where fans will find Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) in the new season.

Speaking to The Mary Sue at the New York Comic-Con, Mason teased that "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will see "the return of a couple of old favorites who will come to terrorize D.C. as much as they did."

One of these familiar villains includes Abraham Van Brunt, who is also known as the Headless Horseman (Neil Jackson). The last time fans saw him, he spared Crane's life after he helped him defeat Pandora in the third season.

There will also be new villains that Crane will have to deal with in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, such as Malcolm Dreyfuss (to be played by Jeremy Davies).

According to the character description obtained by TV Line, Dreyfuss is an "eccentric and outspoken tech mogul" who became a billionaire before the age of 30.

The fact that he has achieved so much that early will push Dreyfuss to find new worlds to take over. This is how he and Crane cross paths in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4.

"In many ways, he is a dark mirror to Tom Mison's Crane, since he represents capitalism and democracy gone awry — a perversion of the American dream that Crane and the Founding Fathers fought so hard to establish," the description further read.

As for Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), the character will not return to "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, and her death will be the driving force of the season.

Lyndie Greenwood, who plays Abbie's sister Jenny, revealed that their new mission this season is to find a new Second Witness now that Abbie is no more.

Her death also brought Crane and Jenny closer emotionally as the two now share this sense of loss. "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will see the two "rely on each other" in some way.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 premieres sometime next year on FOX.
