"Sister Wives" is indeed an unconventional show and yet, it has managed to pull in a lot of viewers even after five seasons on air. Now, the Browns are getting ready for season 6, and everyone's wondering what the new season will be about.
In the season 5 finale, jaws dropped as Meri made a shocking reveal. She decided to divorce Kody to whom she was married for 20 years. They also have a child, Mariah, who is already in college now. No one anticipated the move, but as Meri explained, her decision was for Robyn and her kids.
Robyn has three kids from her previous marriage. The big problem is that these kids won't enjoy the same legal benefits as their step-siblings unless the Brown partriarch and their mom are legally married. Meri loves Robyn and her kids so much that she decided to sacrifice her own marriage for them. Fans of the show believe that what she did was heroic.
However, recent reports point to other possible reasons why she chose to divorce Kody. There is a possibility that it is for the benefit of the show, or that there is really a brewing problem within Meri and Kody's marriage. Then again, it could be both.
On March 11, Meri tweeted, "Contemplating my future, wanting to plan. Excited to see what's to come, how it will look, & how it will play itself out."
Fans can't tell whether Meri is just moving forward or really excited to be out of the marriage. This also begs the question if she simply wants to leave the show and live life anew.
According to Venture Capital Post, the couple's divorce could be about child issues. Meri is the only one who doesn't have a young child at home, all the other women do. She reportedly wanted to have a child again, but due to her age, it was hard. She was open to artificial means but her then-husband wasn't. This argument left Meri very hurt and this could be the reason why she chose to file for divorce.
Moreover, their daughter Mariah seemed cool about her parents' divorce, which comes as a surprise to many. Is it possible that Mariah actually knows the deeper problems within the marriage? Does she know if her mother is no longer happy?
"Sister Wives" season 6 will focus on the new married life of Kody and Robyn. Fans should also prepare to see how Robyn will run the household and how the other wives will react to the changes.
