Sheri Jones-Moffett on her new album and God's work in her life

|PIC1|Can you share about the time when you first felt called to do music for God? What was it like?

The first time I felt called by God to sing music was really a feeling of honour. It was as if God was telling me He had some use for me. I felt grateful to have been chosen by Him for a purpose greater than my own.

What is your favourite song of all time? And why?

My favourite song of all time? Hmmm ... that's a tough one! I'm going to have to say Donnie Hathaway's version of "A Song For You", because it conveys such raw and pure emotion about relationships..

Can you share with us about some difficulties you faced in the making of the album, Renewed, and how God worked through it?

The most difficult challenge I faced in making Renewed was the space of time when I wasn't allowed to concentrate on the project, due to my second pregnancy. I had to focus on delivering a healthy baby, which meant lots of bed rest, per my doctor's instructions. At that time, I couldn't give as much attention to details where the album was concerned.

Out of all the songs in Renewed, which one is your favourite? And why?

The title track of the album, "Renewed", is my favourite song .. It's my story, and I believe it's the average woman's story, as well. I believe the song is an anthem for every woman.

Can you share with us one amazing thing that God has done for you in your life?

This is an easy one. I watched a one pound, five ounce premature baby (our first child, Khadera), blossom into a beautiful, intelligent four year old girl, who has no further complications. God helped me and my husband get through that experience, and now we have two wonderful children.

Tell us something special and unique about yourself.

Here's something not too many people know about me. I love country music! I just enjoy the great stories that they tell.

What is one issue in the world that is very close to your heart and you feel burdened to make a difference for?

I have a burden in my heart for physical fitness and emotional health. Having dealt with both of these issues in my life, I truly believe that God was preparing me to be a champion for those who struggle in this area.

What are you praying for right now?

My prayer is that God will continue to give our President grace, wisdom and guidance to lead us well.
