The renowned PlayStation 2 game, "Shadow of the Colossus," has been announced for the more updated PlayStation 4 as a remake to the delight of steadfast cult following that it has amassed in previous years. Now, gamers, old and new, are anticipating the game for a 2018 release. The more updated and modern version is constantly generating hype for fans and players alike.

In a report by Gamespot, "Shadow of the Colossus" is one of the most anticipated games for the PS4 after it was announced back in June. Gamespot was granted brief access to the game. Based on their reviews, the game shows a lot of promise. The updated graphics as well as the restructuring of the overall gameplay have been received well, and it is shaping up to be everything fans have been expecting from a masterful remake.

Gameplay wise, the developers at JAPAN Studio have tweaked the game for a smoother experience. In the PS2 version, the button for jump used to be triangle, but has now been changed to the more conventional X instead. According to Games Radar, the remake will be presented with 60 frames per second of 1080p display, or 30 frames per second of 4K resolution. This ensures that at least on a visual aspect, the game will be a sight to behold.

Unfortunately, as with the original version, the main protagonist still retains his quirks, being a bit clumsy at times. Fortunately, Trusted Reviews has stated that the overall feel of controlling the main protagonist has been improved for the PS4. As for Colossi, they are now much smoother to fight than they used to be, without sacrificing difficulty.

Could the game be a strong contender for Game of the Year for 2018? The remake for "Shadow of the Colossus" is set to be released on Feb. 6, 2018.
